Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Bermuda Anglers Club I would like to invite you and/or your club/company to put a 3-person team together to fish our 47th International Light Tackle Tournament in 2012.
The tournament will be held between June 17th - 23rd.
The tournament fee is $2,750 per person ($8,250 per team), with $500 per team DEPOSIT DUE 17th February 2012 and BALANCE DUE 30th April 2012.
The entry fee covers the cost of the boats and functions (excluding any transportation costs, raffle and drinks on the dock and at the Prize Presentation Dinner). If non-fishing guests are accompanying anglers then there is a $150 charge per guest to attend all functions. Anglers must bring their own tackle and provide their own food/drink while fishing. Tipping of captains and mates is at the discretion of the anglers and is not included in the tournament fee.
The format is four days of fishing with teams on a different charter boat each day, which is decided by draw at the captains' meeting.
IGFA rules apply and the game fish specified by the IGFA shall be eligible, with the exception of all sharks (full rules & regulations can be found in another section of the tournament website)
This year we will be returning to two line classes by adding 15lb to the 12lb test line that has been using in the last few years. Hi Seas Grand Slam mono is the approved tournament line - green colour for 12lb test and sky blue for 15lb test.
Most of the fishing is done at anchor by way of chumming and no lines or chum are permitted in the water before 0830hrs. Fishing ends at 1500hrs.
A points scoring system is used. Minimum weights are equal to or greater than line test with the exception of certain tuna, which is 18lb for blackfin tuna and 24lb for yellowfin, with points awarded based on weights. Eligible release fish are billfish and yellowfin and blackfin tuna only.
The winning team will qualify for the IGFA Offshore Championship Tournament to be held in 2013 (anglers must be a member of the IGFA before the start of our tournament - sign up forms are available at the captains' meeting).
